I speak, of course, of the War on Christmas that the righties speak of. But, in a way, it is Christmas that attacks us, shortly after the Macy's Parade and the arrival of Santa Claus, telling us to get ready to shop and bake, and fill ourselves with good cheer and brotherhood. Halloween season still ended way too soon, in my opinion.
If anything, I am at war with commercialism, and phony religious sentiments (I think you'll find that Saturnalia/Winter Solstice is "the reason for the season"). But I digress.
With only two and a half weeks to go until our next break from school, I have both less time to wait, and less time to get ready for all that I have to look forward to (for all my snarking, I do love Christmas, particularly the giving therein). I sincerely hope that you all have plans to look forward to as well (mine involve visiting Dave on New Year's Eve/Day <3), and may you use your creative abilities to make the world a brighter place.
No flashing lights, no gospel, no 'from the heart' morals. Just the simple, beautiful glow of human love.
